Taekwondo is a Korean traditional martial arts teaching physical fighting skills and showing ways of enhancing spirit and life through training up the body and mind. The Taekwondo ranks are identified by various of coloured belts for junior and degree of black belt for senior. Today, it has become a global sport that has gained an international reputation, and stands among the official games in the Olympics.

The Taekwondo Club, HKUSTSU was founded in 1992. Master CHAN Tak Chuen is the Head Coach of HKUST Taekwondo Teams. He is also the vice curator of Hong Kong Taekwondo Jung Do Kwan. The Club has been developing in the recent years, with over 100 members. As for the USFHK competition, the Team has made significant achievements in the past years. Besides regular training, the Club also holds gatherings such as BBQ, hotpot, and orientation night to enhance bonding among Members.
